The accused, from Sliabh Dubh Glen, appeared at the city's Magistrates Court for a preliminary enquiry into the alleged offences. He faces up to 15 charges in total, relating to a period between 2016 to 2019. Mr Brady, who is of unknown age, confirmed that he understood the allegations but decided to give evidence or call witnesses at this stage.

No objection was raised when the prosecution submitted that he has a prima facie case to answer. On that basis Deputy District Judge Liam McStay granted an application to have the accused returned for Crown Court trial on a date to be set.
Mr Brady was released under continuing bail, under conditions which include a restriction on those he can have contact with.
