More info	The Irish Freedom Committee will hold protests on SATURDAY MAY 21 2011, Noon at the British consulate in Chicago, 400 N. Michigan Ave.. These protests will be held in tandem with other protests taking place the same day in Ireland in support of the POWs at Maghaberry jail, who have endured over 60 brutal forced strip searches over the past several months and who are now on dirty protest at the jail. We are also highlighting t...he cruel and inhumane detention at Maghaberry of dying republican prisoner Brendan Lillis who is being held without charge and has been bedridden since his internment in 2009. PROTEST IN SUPPORT OF REPUBLICAN POWS IN MAGHABERRY JAIL – SATURDAY MAY 21, 2011 – NOON ON – British Consulate, 400 North Michigan Ave. Flags, banners, placards and leaflets will be provided. These protests are legal, they will be staged on public sidewalk not private property, and will be conducted in a civil manner not impeding pedestrian passage or business at the building in any way.
