The NIO's refusal to let SF's leader meet the Foreign Secretary in Belfast yesterday (with the Government knowing a diversionary row would follow) now makes sense.

While that symbolic snub was happening, the Government is substantively snubbing the DUP by building a permanent border (I can see another double-decker bus on the way for the DUP).
The UK will bring forward legislation this week which could see work on the construction of border control posts at the North of Ireland ports to resume, following months of controversy related to the NI Protocol, RTE News understands.

With many thanks to: Sam McBride (Belfast Telegraph) and Tony Connelly (RTÉ) for the original Tweets
